Google Introduces Favourites Lists to Maps
[ad_1]
Google has introduced the ability to create and share lists of places in Maps without ever having to leave the app. The feature lets the user list ‘favourites’, ‘want to go’ locations, and ‘starred places, as well as creating new lists of destinations.
To add a location to a list, the user has to search for the place in app, tap on its name and then tap on the ‘save’ icon to reveal pre-set lists and a new list option. To recall a list, the user has to visit the ‘Your Places’ tab – in the side menu – and then open the ‘saved’ tab from there.
The Lists feature is available on Android and iOS. Lists can be shared via text, email, social networks and popular messaging apps through the share button and the person on the end of the share can choose to ‘follow’ the list. Followed lists are available on mobile, desktop, or offline – if downloaded.
“With the millions of landmarks, businesses and other points of interest in Google Maps, there’s no shortage of places to try,” said Zach Maier, product manager at Google Maps, in a blog post.
