Samsung has finally introduced the iOS version of its Gear S app – to bring iPhone and iPad compatibility to its Gear S3, Gear S2 and Gear Fit2 smartwatches.
The app is available now, on compatible iOS devices, in the App Store. It guides users through steps to complete the pairing between the iOS device and user’s Samsung wearable.
“We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance our offerings and we do this in part by listening to what our customers want – and that includes greater access to our cutting-edge wearable technologies with iOS support,” said Younghee Lee, executive VP of global marketing for mobile communications at Samsung Electronics. “By offering Android and iOS compatibility with our latest Gear devices, we’re giving users more ways to optimise their wearable experiences and connect to Samsung’s Galaxy of possibilities.”
Despite its long-anticipated release, the app is receiving mixed reviews, and is currently rated at three stars, on the App Store. Users are complaining of bugs, limited features and poor connection speeds, among other things.
