Twitter DashboardTwitter has announced that it will be shutting down its business suite that enables businesses to track and monitor tweets, schedule posts and access analytics regarding their brand.

The Dashboard feature, which only launched in June 2016, will close on 3 February. Twitter broke the news through a vague series of tweets from its Dashboard account. However, Twitter did make it clear that it hoped to, in the future, ‘bring the best features from Dashboard to the broader Twitter community’.

Dashboard, which was available on desktop and iOS app, was launched in the hope of helping businesses ‘connect with their customers and community’. The free tool enabled businesses to engage with their audiences through custom feeds, to schedule tweets for anytime that they wished and provided Tweet ideas to businesses unsure of what to send out. The problem with this is that other platforms, like Hootsuite and Buffer, already offer all these features and more to Twitter users.

The decision to close Dashboard follows the announcement that Vine would be closing down, to be replaced by Vine Camera – an app allowing users to save the six-second videos to their phone gallery or upload directly to Twitter.
